What a Spectacular Show at #IHSS16!

We had an absolutely fantastic time spending this bank holiday weekend at the Ideal Home Show Scotland! We were in our element as the event exceeded our expectations in almost every way, from start to finish.

Our stand took pride of place at the right hand side of the show's main entrance to ensure our friendly faces were among the first to welcome the thousands of attendees.

Connecting With Customers

Our display items proved immensely popular with visitors, selling out completely over the course of the weekend – this included the beautiful new Galassia range, both of our stunning free-standing baths as well as our eye-catching copper bath that sat at the top of our stand as our feature piece.

This flurry of sales activity puts us in a very exciting position as we will now replace these items that once graced our showroom and create new impressive displays.

Aside from sales we spoke to a whole host of interested individuals who shared their dreams for their bathrooms and sought our design services for their high-calibre projects.

Most of the people we spoke to were looking to have between 5 and even 8 bathrooms designed per home, so you can imagine how exciting this was for us!

a Year of Spectacular Growth

As 2016 has been a year of huge growth for us, seeing the number of leads over the course of the last year double. We have seen much bigger and more exciting projects coming our way from throughout the country, stretching as far north as Inverness and all the way down to London.

Having been in business for over two years now we have established ourselves as a brand to the extent that attendees at the Ideal Home Show were already familiar with us having seen our online case studies and social media showcases of our work. The Ideal Home Show gave us the opportunity to put a face to the name, pick our brains and take advantage of our discounts exclusively for show-goers.

Forging New Relationships

It was a great experience to see other big names in design at their stands for design inspiration as well as to build up strong brand relationships with other companies in order to offer even greater value to our customers in future.

See You Again Next Year!

The day was a huge success for us and we thoroughly enjoyed our time meeting new customers and fellow design industry experts, we are sure to be back again in future!

Luxurious Open Plan bathrooms are a rising trend – and here’s why.

Since opening BAGNODESIGN Glasgow over two years ago we have done our level best to be in front of the competition, this began with the concept of full setting displays throughout the showroom and designing a concept for our clients rather than trying to sell them components for a bathroom, so how do we now take this to the next lever in terms of what BAGNODESIGN Glasgow has to offer?

Our latest thought of how to give our clients the ultimate experience is to not only concentrate on the en-suite but to look at the bedroom, dressing room and en-suite as a single concept to make sure the flow aesthetically and functionally work for the client.

This idea very much reminds me when architects and designers began to create kitchens that were more hubs of the home than places to cook and wash up, Large open plan spaces.  So why not for an en-suite?

Bathroom meets dressing room

Bathroom meets dressing room

Many bathrooms are now designed to encourage time spent relaxing and rejuvenating. Often one of the most complex designs of the home, it makes sense that a bathroom should function as more than just a place to brush your teeth, and the first step towards making this happen is to start thinking of it as such.

Another key feature, with the right placement, is artwork, which completes the vibe of a luxurious hub. Final touches like the accessories can help not only the practical operation of the room but help tie in the colours of brassware chosen.

Going open-plan offers more space, allowing a dressing area to be incorporated, as well as bathing and a WC that can be positioned with some privacy in mind. Bathing, dressing and ‘getting ready’ can all be made smooth processes, and designated areas for these stages are a good idea where possible, particularly when dealing with an ensuite.

This extra space, combined with clean finishes and an all over sleek design work towards making your room a refuge of serenity. Black, whites and greys are timeless, and they offer a certain minimalism that any room that encourages relaxation should take advantage of. That’s not saying that the room should not have personal touches, and 2016’s trend of varying colours of brassware can help you there. The introduction of the anthracite (bold dark grey) Mezzine range works to give the bathroom a bold look, and can be extremely eye-catching within a simplistic space.

A key feature for spas is lighting, and your new bathroom should be no different. A careful balance should be struck between natural, task and mood lighting – all of which will simultaneously increase the experience and the mood. As with all open-plan spaces, lighting must have a certain consistency throughout. The addition of houseplants not only help purify the air, but introduce the decorative aspect that will be present throughout your home. Depending on space, there are options for countertop, wall hanging or freestanding plants.

Another key feature, with the right placement, is artwork, which completes the vibe of a luxurious hub. Final touches like the accessories can help not only the practical operation of the room but help tie in the colours of brassware chosen.

Designing a Bathroom Showroom

It may sound obvious, but first and foremost when designing or resigning your showroom it’s imperative to think of your clients, how they shop and what would help them make the experience of working with you as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

Customers want to feel inspired – they want to see the different styles of bathroom products "in the flesh" so it’s important to vary your displays so that you highlight the various options available.

While it can be tempting to focus on what’s on trend, it may not be to everybody’s taste or be in keeping with the rest of the customer’s property. The showroom environment offers a brilliant opportunity to showcase the breadth of products available and encourage creativity in bathroom design.

The most effective way of doing this is to make each display different from the next and choosing to display products that break away from the norm in order to get customers thinking about their own bathrooms and just what may be possible. In addition to this by using life size settings also helps our clients visualise what may be achievable in their own home.

Finally, just as there is no ‘one size fits all’ bathroom solution, similarly no two customers will choose a new bathroom in the same way. Some will focus on the sanitary ware first, while others will prefer to pick their tiles and colour schemes and design the space to suit. By taking this into consideration when designing your displays you can ensure that the showroom appeals to the mind set of the 21st Century consumer.

At BAGNODESIGN Glasgow we have taken a unique approach as to how we retail our bathrooms. We do not focus on specific products until we near the end of the design process, it is important tor our designers to get a sense of our clients style and if any products that are a must have at an early stage, This is done by taking a detailed brief where we look get a background into the room and what our client is looking to achieve with the end result along with their sense of style.

We then look at the room more as an overall concept then the products start to choose themselves as they tie in with the overall concept of the room. This makes the whole decision making process for our clients a much more enjoyable experience as we have built their trust from the brief to proposal stage they are more often than not happy to go with our designers recommendation on product selection.
